What is the easiest/quickest way to gain dual citizenship?
I'm Canadian, and was wondering what the best way to gain dual citizenship with the US is? Besides marriage, and obviously besides being born with dual citizenship. All the information I've looked at has been rather confusing.

- why dont you decide what country you're loyal to, then become a full citizen if you need to keep a foot in canada, i'd just as soon you kept both there seems like the whole world wants to come to the usa, and leave their loyalty where they came from
- Besides marriage, none are easy. You have to get a work visa and establish a residence and then after a set number of years you have to take a test and pledge your allegiance to the US. Also note that the US doesn't allow dual citizenships but I don't know about canada. If canada doesn't allow them you're stuck and you'll have to pick one or the other, if Canada does allow them then you'll be able to retain your canadian citizenship.
- join the US military- they help speed up the citizenship process
- Turkey allows dual Citizenship.
- You must immigrate to the USA, go the green card route, apply for, and be granted, USA citizenship -- then you'll have dual because Canada does not recognize the part of the USA oath of citizenship where you abandon your foreign loyalty. Nor does France, Israel, Philippines, and a host of other countries. Cut the tape. Find a nice girl and get married. It doesn't hurt.
- Marriage is the only way I can think of. Although we have a lot of people strolling in from Mexico expecting to become citizens... I commend you for asking how to do it properly - I wish you luck. Wish I could be more help!
- I don't think they allow you to do that anymore once you turn 21.
