What to include in a fishing first aid kit?
My dad just bought a boat for fishing. He plans to take it out on the lake soon. I want to give him a kit with first aid items or other misc items he might need. What should I include?

- rubbing alcohol, bandades, neosporin, maybe a pocket knife?
- I can't put together an entire kit for you, but you might want to include bug spray, itch cream, wire cutters (I seen a kid get hooked in the eyelid once. Not good), sterile bandages, rubbing alcohol, hand wipes, gauze, sport tape, some extra beer, glow sticks, whistles, fire crackers, lighters, hot pockets... stuff like that.
- you know the usual hooks, sinkers, a bobber but if you want to give him a real suprise go and buy a couple of floating Rapalas, even some brand new fishing line, or if you can swing it a brand new fishing pole...b/c fathers day is coming right up and I know he would just love that
- I think that it's really nice of you to do that. I go fishing all of the time. Other than the normal first aid stuff, I think that the best thing to include is a pair of small pliers. If he is going to use barbed hooks, he will need them. If he were to get hooked, he wouln't be able to remove the hook very easily if he doesn't have them! Good luck!
- You should check with the state that you live in under the Department of Natural Resources. Even the coast guard web site maybe able to help. You need a fire extinguisher, life preservers, flashlight, and first aid kit. These would be some ideal items to have. 1. Blanket 2. Disposable Latex Gloves 3. Scissors 4. Tweezers 5. Non-Adhesive Pads 6. Gauze Roll & Gauze Pads 7. First Aid Cream 8. Eye Wash 9. Cold/Ice Packs 10. Adhesive Waterproof Tape 11. Adhesive Badages 12. Bandaids 13. CPR Mask 14. Alcohol Wipes You can go to Wal-Mart and check in their pharmacy or sporting goods department for a first aid kit. I know they sell them. If you want to get fancy and order where I order some of my things, you can try: www.galls.com
- Get him the new rapala x-rap for sure and a few softbaits and others baits. BE ALSO SURE TO INCLUDE WIRE CUTTERS SO IF SOMEONE GETS A HOOK STUCK IN THEM YOU CAN CUT THE HOOK AND PULL IT OUT THE OTHER WAY. And the other usuall stuff like the guy above mentioned. Hope he likes it.
- I buy the ready made kits from walmart and add to it. 12 feet of twine mirror magnifying glass 2 lighters compass knife hooks split shot weights a few jigs cyalume sticks ( glow sticks) dental floss Needle and thread bug spray ( I spray it on napkins and keep it seperate from other things using a zip lock.) I fish alot in strange places and usually alone so I have to be prepped with the basics. This might not be good for everyones needs but it works for me in my neck of the woods.
- A good thing you never know what you will need in the way of FIRST AID!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Man o man the best thing you can do is to go to the sporting goods store and just buy a small first aid kit they make them that can be mounted or put in a storage box some are even slightly water proof. Everything is there band aids, little packages of neosporin, maybe tweezers, aspirin just everything he might need just get a small one like six by eight inches. Wrap it up for him with a little bow on it . Fathers day is Sunday what a great gift.
- pliers, band aids, neosporin, aspirin, gauze, tape, and maybe some Jack Daniels
- Its great your considering safety aspect while fishing, most anglers i know carry a first aid kit, some don't. I do and here's the basics you need, scissors, heavy duty wire snips, allow you to remove a barbed hook by cutting the hook at the shank instead of getting it out by the barb, anti bacterial gel, aspirin. I also carry some of this http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/links/link.jsp?id=0048462517925a&type=product&cmCat=SEARCH&returnPage=search-results1.jsp&QueryText=first+aid&N=4887&Ntk=Products&Ntx=mode+matchall&Nty=1&Ntt=first+aid&noImage=0 Other things of use Body stapler kit Bandages.
