- Yes!
- yeah it should be introduced because if i learn't first aid sooner then i could've saved my dad's life
- First aide is important. It can avoid additional injury, save loves and provide for proper medical attention. The key element is obtaining the right teacher who can teach and is familiar with First Aide
- Yes. Where I am from it is usually given in grade 9, but it is not yet in the curriculum.
- Absolutely! However, I think it should be age appropriate leading to about 7th grade health class. Then a First Aid class by a trained Red Cross instructor would be great. I hold my First Aid card, which expires every 2 years. It gives me confidence when I see an injured person....I know the advice I'm giving is the best possible care until a fully trained EMT comes along. It's also comforting to the person hurt when you say "I'm Red Cross trained in First Aid." I started as a "Candy Striper" at 11 and by 16 saved a child from drowning in the ocean by giving CPR. Numerous people and children hurt since then have given me the ability to just comfort and care. I have NO desire to be a nurse, but it does give children insight to medical careers as well. Now that I've answered your question...please consider giving clean stuffed animals to your local fire station. They need them when they are helping calm children in any situation. Thanks for listening. Good luck with what you decide is best.
- well, if someone wants to be taught first aid they can go to a class at lunch times or after schools. In the first aid room at my school, there's posters up on the wall of what to do in certain incidents and there are classes available at lunch times!
