Has anyone had success at selling Liberty National Life insurance or AmeriPlan? Has anyone had success at selling Liberty National Life insurance or AmeriPlan? I am wondering if they are worth my time or just a scam.
Have Anybody ever heard of Liberty National life insurance? I suppose to call someone to set up a interview and I was wondering is this a legit company.Do you need transportation?
Do you or anyone you know work at Liberty National Life Insurance company? I went for an interview last week and got hired as a sales agent. The sales manager told me i had to purchase a laptop computer in order to perform my job duties. She also said i can sell enough premiums to save up for one. Is this legit? and can i really earn money from this??
Liberty National Life Insurance representative? I have got a job offer from Liberty National Life as a representative. Do anyone know info about this job!!!
Is Liberty National Life Insurance is a good company to work for? Ok, like a few days ago i've scheduled an interview with National Life Insurance company and was really excited 'bout workin' there until today, but tomorrow (8/05/09) i have my interview...anyways, while i was making some more researches about the company so that i could present my questions to the interviewer (u know when he/she will ask me if i have any questions...) and then i stumbled upon some acclaimed Liberty National Life Insurance "scams"...u know how people can be HORRIBLE on the internet. so anyways people (customers or employees, especially EX employees) were saying really bad stuff about the company. Like, LNL insurance doesn't pay people fairly, and that if you just wanna buy a pair of shoes to wear then it's a "fitted" company to work for, and all the bad things u could imagine...in fact, the ex employees were really crucial about the company. So now, i'm really nervous about working for them you know? I mean what if what those ppl are telling the truth and that i'm just heading toward god knows what?! What if i get the job and realize then that everything that was being said on the internet was true? What if they don't pay me fairly? or i don't know.... All of this has gotten me very frustrated...so if any of u guys can be any help with reliable sources, or just helpful suggestions would be more than great! Thankx and oh lol i didn't realized i wrote so much...sorry 'bout that though....
Is Liberty National Life Insurance a scam employer? I recently have been offered a job as a sales agent with Liberty National. I've unwittingly jumped on the opportunity, and paid the "temporary license, and background check." Well, after a little searching on the ethics of the company, I've seen a good amount of complaints. The branch manager I talked to, almost immediately put my information in to their system. Then told me about the very high income a "First Year Agent" can make, which was well over 200k annually. And that he became a branch manager in just over a year. Well, even with my skepticism in place, I still fell for the numbers. I just now think I may have been suckered into a scheme, that may not really work. I already know I will be doing much of the work on my own, but is it really worth even continuing on this job lead, or is it not worth my time, and just suck up the losses.
Life Insurance Agents?!?!!?!? I have a job interview tomorow with Liberty National Life Insurance company. Anways, I will be getting interviewed for the customer service/sales postition. I wanted to know a little bit more about it. Is it hard to sale life insurance to people? How much would a agent make on average a month? (commission based) Just any advice will be very helpful! Thanks so much and have a good night!
Is being an agent at Liberty National Insurance worthwhile? I have job offer and begin training but i am smart enough to know there is more to it. Does anybody know an average income for first year insurance salesman as far as life/health goes?
Liberty National Insurance? Ok, well, i got hired there today, paid for the temp license and fingerprinting... should i stick with the job and see how it goes or keep looking and just forget about it? Ive put in my 2 weeks @ my old job (for the 2nd time, she wont take me back) Ive heard nothing but horror stories about selling insurance.. Life and health to be more exact... What do you think? Should i just count it as a lesson well learned (and not to spend 120 on fingerprints and a temp...)
Can someone explain how I would make money at this insurance agency? I have a job offer at Liberty National Insurance, commission only. I understand the general idea behind commission, but can someone go in detail as to how a life insurance (and other small policies) agent gets paid. PS: Is it a lot of cold-calling? And are all companies this way (Aflac, etc.)? If it's cold calling, then why would I need to sit in an office with 10 other people doing the same? Couldn't I accomplish this at home and save driving 25 miles? Lol.
GED, Diploma and College or Work... what to do (this will affect the rest of my life!)? In a nutshell, I have been unsuccessful in a traditional school environment. I have excellent scores though. i had the highest score for the Pre GED exam in my district (765/ 800) I am 18 years old and i would require another year in school to graduate. i have already been kicked out of the schools in my district due to getting in fights. My iQ is 154, and my principal, teachers and I am even confident i could take the act and sat and get a free ride through college. my mom wrecked the only car we have so i have to work and buy a new one. I am either loved or hated, never in between because i have such a strong personality... and i dont deal well with idiots. as a matter of fact the way that i deal with drama would imply that i myself am an idiot. everyone says i am too old and mature for highschool and i will end up getting in trouble, and wasting my time when i could have had my GED and been done. My dad who is far wiser and smarter than I am... says that i will regret every day not getting my diploma and i will take it to my grave. I also know taht because of the clashes i have with my family it is also best that i find a place of my own to avoid conflict. i have been homeschooled before, but i suck at being disciplined enough to sit at the computer for hours by myself. and courses are expensive. i have no problems getting jobs, i currently work for national liberty life insurance making 10 an hour. My options are... 1) keep working until i can afford a car and try to go to a school in another district next year and quit work at the end of summer. suck it up and deal with them for another year. 2) Get my GED, take the tests go to college and keep working and move out sooner. 3) Keep working, buy homeschool courses, try to finish them and work full time. Move out sooner. delay going to college. Please give insightful ANSWERS, dont be an asswipe this isnt funny its a serious matter and i want real answers. any BS will be flagged.
does this job sound like a scam to you? I recently got offered a position with Liberty National Life Insurance, they need agents, which is a pretty work at home job, here's the catch, I got to pay $100 to get state licensed, he sounded pretty nonchalant about me doing my own research and calling him back if I was still interested sound like a scam?
Life Insurance agent- training and beyond? So, I'm just out of college and the job market is slim. I'm thinking about becoming a life insurance agent. It's Liberty National and I hear the pay and benefits are great. They train you and have you work as someone's assistant before turning you loose. Does anyone in the field know more of what it's like working for a life insurance company? Do you get paid during training? Can you do the job successfully without employing trickery? Is the pay really as good as they say? Any help would be great. Thanks ahead of time.
Hiring age? What is the hiring age for Liberty National Life Insurance in Altamonte, Florida
I am looking for a job that pays at least 24,000 USD annually while in college. Is this possible? I am currently a Business Administration major at Troy University. As odd as it may seem, I am still not very good a writing resumes. I have neither a suit nor a tie or an iron to keep my not-quite-dressy button down shirts as wrinkle free as possible. I have never been required to where a suit and had no intentions of buying one until my last year of college. Now it seems that I am going to have a hard time finding any job that pays at least 2,000 dollars a month because of my lack of professional attire and resume writing skills. Also, as you will see, my resume is very weak, mostly because I don't have much to put in it. I was never a member of any organizations outside of music and band other than the National Honors Society. Even now, in college, I am no longer a member of the marching band because I cannot be a member, go to school, and hold a full time job. The only thing that I have going for me is that my grades were amazing in high school. I graduated High School with an advanced diploma and a GPA of 3.85. I feel as though I am going to be stuck working as a sales associate at another retail store for the next four years of my life. I know of many companies in town that are hiring assistant manager positions, but, as you will see, I have no supervisory experience. At the moment, as I have said numerous times until now, I feel I have nothing going for me at the moment because, to my understanding, no one cares if you are in college or have a degree in progress. They only care if you actually have your degree ready to hand to them. I would greatly appreciate any advice on how to improve my resume, and possibly even land a job with a decent salary that can grant me with even more experience and more to put on my resume after college. Here is my Resume: Tyler M. Abrahamson *** Summary: Very Outgoing Personality. Business-Oriented Attitude. Very Experienced at Dealing with Customers on a Daily Basis. Experienced with Microsoft Word, Powerpoint, and Excel. Should I seek an assistant management position? I am currently 20 years of age and enrolled in Troy University, which is a very accreditted four year school. I am a Business Administration major accompanied by a Computer Science minor. I have 3 years of experience in customer service and sales. I am currently an agent for Liberty National life insurance. I was a member of the gifted program in elementary school and a member of the National Honors Society in High School. I am about to take a test (not soon enough to use on my resume now, unfortunately) to become a member of Mensa because I have been told by many that my intellect surpasses that of most. I am very driven to succeed and want to start my own record label someday. I also owned my own business in High School. (While on that topic, can I put that on my resume?) I say all this because I am seeking a position as an assistant manager at 10 different places on Monday. They are all looking for assistant managers, as can be seen by the openings of which were listed on Monster.com. I am going to actually go to each of these stores on Monday to show them my interest and "get my name to them" so to speak. I am doing this in the hopes that they will see how mature I am and that I actually have interest in the position, or at least more so than others of whom simply apply online and wait. Also, while on this topic, will my showing them who I am and showing them my interest increase my chances of getting the job over someone who actually has a little more experience than myself? Finally, should I even bother applying for assistant management positions without supervisory experience? I have this fear that, regardless of how well I present myself to them, I will not get the job due to lack of supervisory experience. I apologize for this immense run on paragraph, and I thank you for all your answers and would much appreciate any other miscenalleous advice.
Can I cash out a "20 pay life policy"? I have a $5,000 "20 pay life" insurance policy from Liberty National. It is all paid up, can I cash it out? How much would I get out of it? And lastly, how would I go about cashing it out? I can't get the Liberty National locations near me to answer their phones. Thanks in advance. I don't want to keep the policy because anyone who can do math knows whole life insurance is a bad product. The only people that think otherwise are the people making a commission off of them. I appreciate my grand parents intention for taking out the policy, but even if I can cash it out for a $1,000 I can easily turn that investment into more than $5,000 by the time I'm older. If I die young I've got a half million in term life insurance.
So you want National Healthcare. Do you also want your Life tracked by the Gov't??? ID cards 'could be a Big Brother tax trap' Identity cards could provide a back door for the taxman to snoop on people's affairs using a database of National Insurance numbers. The card system will use an existing NI database to log details, potentially making it easier for tax inspectors to keep tabs. Officials had hoped to base ID cards on a National Identity Register but will instead use the Customer Information System run by the Department of Work and Pensions. Gareth Crossman, policy director at Liberty, added: "The Government sold us the ID card scheme under the guise of terror and crime protection, but the reality is that it has the potential for massive, unanticipated state access into our private lives." Wow, really???!!! Who woulda thought??? http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/news/2007/08/11/nid111.xml I don't have any credit cards and I think that the 57 dollars I pay out of pocket for a Dr. visit is pretty affordable. "Those that sacrifice freedom for security, deserve neither." Have you priced out a plumber lately?? As a boiler tech I make 92.50 an hour, that's more than my Dr......
Why is a nation, founded on the premise that "all men are created equal & are endowed by their Creator with...? ...certain unalienable Rights" so hypocritically determined to deprive several million fellow citizens of the "Right to LIFE, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness" by denying them medical treatment, simply because they are poor or unemployed. In the UK we have the National Health Service founded in 1947 by Bevan, an ex-coalminer and paid for out of a small tax called National Insurance, levied on everyone. This entitles everyone, rich or poor, to the same excellent treatment from cradle to grave. You should pay no heed to the the ravings and lies of that treacherous filth, Daniel Hannan. His career as a "politician" will soon be over!

Why has no nation on Earth ever had a successful private, for-profit, universal health insurance system? Attention, high school drop-outs! Free debating lessons here: ************************************************************************ Before answering the question above, please read my answer below. If you disagree with my facts and logic, please tell me why I am wrong. Then I will tell you why you are wrong. That is the way grownups do it. If you only want to type a sound bite, go away. *********************************************************************** Profit-making is incompatible with the prevention and cure of sickness. Healing sick people is not a service in the same sense that fixing a car is a service. The auto-repair industry serves its customers profitably in a free market for several reasons that do not apply to the health care industry: 1. The cost of an auto repair rarely exceeds 50% of the cost of acquiring an equivalent vehicle and is usually less than 5% of that cost. The patient cannot acquire another body. The cost of an illness may exceed the combined cost of a buying a home and raising a family of university graduates. 2. Garages stay in business by making good decisions and providing good service. Health care providers stay in business (retain their medical license) by conforming to industry standards. The health care industry (as opposed to the health care INSURANCE industry) does not want customers. They do not have to attract customers. There is no point in advertising for customers. The doctor regrets that the patient needs his help. The patient regrets being a patient. 3. Auto repair is based upon commodities: widely available parts, repair manuals, tools, and mechanics. Costs are well known and prices are regulated by competition Health care equipment is highly technical and very expensive. Doctors are mostly specialists, often researchers with few students. They sometimes build their own equipment. The customer’s life may depend upon finding the right doctor. If that doctor does not have a contract with the patient’s private insurance company, the claim will be denied. (http://www.creators.com/liberal/froma-harrop/free-market-death-panels.html) 4. All drivers can afford to drive – until they can’t. If too many drivers can’t afford to drive, some garages may suffer or fail. It’s tough on the ex-drivers and ex-garage owners, but that’s the free market. Patients must be served whether they can afford to pay or not. If they cannot pay, the cost must be shifted to others. In particular, children and students cannot afford to pay for their own care. But they must receive the finest possible health care (and education) regardless of the wealth or poverty of their parents. This requirement is enshrined in our Constitution’s Preamble which vows to “promote the general Welfare and to secure the Blessing of Liberty to ourselves and to our Posterity.” Posterity is our nation’s ONLY product. We MUST do it right. Spending large public funds on the postponement of death for a few very uncomfortable months is an irrational betrayal of our heritage and our national interest. For the above reasons, universal health care costs can only be met by payments of deductible claims made through an insurance system financed by premiums that are subsidized for the poor. Costs are paid from the insurance pool. For statistical and administrative reasons, the larger the pool, the lower will be the premiums. The risk is spread over a larger population. That is why single-payer policies are the least expensive: everybody is in the same pool. This is a mathematical CERTAINTY. Breaking the insurance pool into a hundred different pools adds important costs: financing, administrative, advertising, customer selection, claims denial, high executive salaries, and profits. These additional costs (over 25% of the total current cost and over 33% more than the single-payer costs) represent a “tax” paid to private insurance companies by all its customers with no benefit to the consumers. The usual objection to single-payer is government inefficiency. And reduction of Medicare and Medicaid costs are part of the legislation before Congress. But the Veterans Administration provides excellent care to millions of veterans suffering a wide range of problems at a very reasonable cost compared to private industry. Government rationing of health care is another objection. But, without exception, every private health care insurance company has a large building with an entire floor or two devoted to a department that does nothing else but ration health care. These claim deniers are answerable only to their highly paid management, not to Congress or to a State Legislature or to the voter. The only recourse to denial of a claim is to file a suit through the court system and pay the lawyer. There are now insurance solutions approximating single-payer before Congress. They need your support. General answers: Success means that, with relatively few exceptions, everyone is served as well as possible within the available resources regardless of previous history or ability to pay. Of course, some will be served better or worse than others. It's the intent that counts. We have two excellent VA hospitals in the Chicago area. I receive excellent service in my clinic. The brouhaha at Walter Reed was solved by firing a general. There are problems at all hospitals, VA or not. Most of the VA problems arise from PTSD cases. No civilian hospital has that problem. I can't believe how many high school drop-outs skipped reading my carefully thought out essay and just dropped a sound bite. That's rude. I begged you guys to go away. For those who got ripped off at a garage, welcome to the free market. If you were treated that badly in a hospital, you might want to hold off on tort reform. jwoody88: The USA has a private (not public), for profit, health insurance system. It is neither successful in economic terms nor universal. Many people, including me, have been very well served, whether private or public. I am on Medicare and have no complaints, nor have I ever heard a senior complain. The problem lies with those who are not served. Texas Tre. The US Army, Navy, and Air Force are models of efficiency. Expensive, yes, but efficient in the sense that they do their best and are held accountable. That is somewhat like the USSR, which could beat us into space but couldn't make bumaga (that's toilet paper). The civil service people in our government are excellent. The problem is the guys like Brownie, who did a hekkova job at Katrina. Bush tried to run Iraq with born-again Christians just out of Bob Jones college. He tried to replace federal attorneys from the same source, which is getting Karl Rove into trouble now.

whats wrong with being a liberal? Think about it: Whats wrong with being a liberal.. Christ wasn't a conservative. He fed the hungry simply because they were hungry. He didn't require that they go to work first. He healed the sick, simply because they were sick. He didn't push them into an insurance company, or let the drug companies gouge them on prices. Jesus was a liberal; Herod was the conservative. Moses was the liberal; Pharaoh was the conservative. Abolitionists were liberals; slave owners were the conservatives. Mandela is a liberal; the South African apartheid leaders were the conservatives. That's why conservative Dick Cheney supported apartheid over Mandela, and approved of keeping Mandela in prison. The Suffragettes were liberals; those who opposed the vote for women were conservatives. Martin Luther King was a liberal; the segregationists were conservatives. He wanted to end racial discrimination; they wanted to conserve it. Advocates of national health care are liberals; George W. Bush, the HMOs and drug companies are the conservatives. They profit from the current system and want to conserve it from reforms that would make health care affordable for all Americans. America was a liberal idea. Washington and Jefferson were the liberals; King George was the conservative. America was founded on the proposition that ''We the people'' were endowed with inalienable rights -- including life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. And when oppressed by an unjust ruler, we had the right to declare our independence and establish our own form of government. And America was built by liberals -- by dissenters, by those persecuted for their religion or their race. The Statute of Liberty doesn't say, ''Send me your privileged, your wealthy, your powerful yearning to conserve their fortunes.'' It says, ''Send me your tired, your poor, your humble yearning to breathe free.'' Today the choices are equally clear. Bush and Cheney argue for tax cuts for the wealthy; they want to consolidate the wealth and power of the ''have mores'' that the president calls ''my base.'' Liberals are for rolling back tax cuts for the rich and investing in education so every child gets a fair shot. Conservatives would conserve the two Americas: one system of education, health care and retirement security for the powerful, and one for the rest of us. Liberals would make certain that everyone has the right to a high-quality education, to affordable health care, to a decent retirement. Bush wants to cut guaranteed benefits under Social Security while privatizing it; liberals want to save Social Security so that all Americans have a basic floor beneath their feet. Bush is against a minimum wage; liberals want to raise the minimum wage. Bush wants to weaken the 40-hour week and reduce those eligible for overtime; liberals want to make certain workers get paid overtime if they have to work more than 40 hours a week. You can pick your side -- liberal or conservative, for change or for the status quo, for the poor or for the privileged. For me, I stand with Christ against Herod; Moses against the Pharaoh; the abolitionists against the slaveholders; King against the segregationists, the Suffragettes against the male politicians; the many against the few, and liberals against this crowd in the White House. But whatever you choose, the next time Bush and Cheney rail about Kerry being too liberal, remember that America was a liberal idea from the start.

End entangling alliances such as the UN, NATO, etc. 5. Initiate comprehensive individual treaties with any and all nations and establish non-interventionist policy. 6. Establish Barbary Pirates policy as the official means of dealing with piracy and terrorism, extending Congressional power to prosecute offenders here and abroad. 7. Streamline both the immigration process, but also the work visa process to allow easier access to legal immigration. 8. Prosecute illegal immigration: - Transporting illegal aliens into the country, knowingly hiring illegal aliens, knowingly providing shelter or housing to illegal aliens will be classified as a Class C felony. - Illegal aliens will not be eligible for any public support. - Medical professionals and organizations will be restricted from treating illegal aliens except in life or death situations. Any illegal aliens seeking treatment are to be turned over to the authorities. - A constitutional amendment that establishes that a child born in the US, but lacking at least one parent with legal status, will not be granted automatic citizenship. PROMOTING THE GENERAL WELFARE 1. Establish voluntary participation National Health Insurance Program. - Promote State level financial aid program with coverage up to a family of four. - Government regulated, non-profit managed. - Built in standards to promote competition. - Pricing on a per person basis. - Not employer specific. - Medical professionals are not required to care for those not demonstrating an ability to pay. 2. Transition Unemployment Assistance program to State level. 3. Transition Disability Assistance program to State level. 4. Establish comprehensive educational program. - Constitutional amendment granting Congress authority to establish minimum educational criteria, leaving management in the hands of the States. - Schools will be ranked at county, state, and Federal levels. - Funding follows students. - Parents can opt for either public or private schools. 5. Establish Federal educational program for military service members. 6. Push for State programs to assist the poorest citizens in acquiring a higher education. 7. Eliminate all other Federal charity programs. - States are advised to initiate charity programs as they deem appropriate and as their Constitutions allow. MAINTAINING LIBERTY 1. Eliminate all ot What would you change? NOTE: This is of course a bullet list as YA won't allow a 15 page document to be uploaded :) Erick: What points do you disagree with? Why? Princess K: As far as the mandatory service goes, that is really based on whether or not you want the privilege of voting. Note this service is in the defensive national guard, not the regular military. Our Founders said defense of this country is the duty of every citizen and if you were unwilling to do so, we neither want nor ask for your council. Istainjaa: You pay for the voluntary health care. The program is based on using the buying power of an entire state to create a lower price structure, much like a larger company can get lower rates than my little business with 10 employees. Currently the Federal government supports unemployment. Federal charity is unconsititutional. Malcolm Equis: I've sent you an email to help clarify since my response is to long winded for an "edit". Erick: It is a Federal insurance program you pay into. Actually our proposal uses non-profit insurance providers that bid for States. So technically the federal government only outlines the minimum program requirements and monitors performance - the providers do the rest. Federal charity is unconstitutional, so any assistance programs would have to exist at the State level. Pampoulmouse: The 15th week was selected based on the development cycle of a fetus. During the 15th - 18th weeks the fetus develops a cerebral cortex, which allows an individual consciousness to form and therefore the possiblity of emotional harm develops. Prior to that it is little more than a growth. James L: I do not support isolationism. I do support non-interventionism. The internal affairs of another nation are not our concern, and we should respect their national sovereignty if we expect them to respect ours. Trade is the key to diplomacy. Most of our current issues on the world stage evolved from interference and maintaining a cold war military structure. Bad ideas. My attitude is we will leave you alone until you give us a valid reason not to. Then we should punish you for it. Spock for Prez: 1. Why the need to add the bit about transfer of custody? We already have systems in place to allow adoption of a foreign child. My neighbors just adopted a Russian baby. 2. How does your marriage amendment protect liberty? 3. Interesting thoughts on the religion issue. Wyomugs: 1. Yes. Yes I expect that if you are going to log into Yahoo Answers, at whatever time you choose to do so, that you will be able to comprehend the questions posted there - regardless of their depth. Considering I posted this closer to 1am in my time zone, at 11:50 you should be rested and ready to go. 2. Yes. Yes I know the agenda set forth here is hard. Does the fact that something is hard make it less worthwhile to do? Where would we be if our Founders had said, "Revolution is hard, we probably shouldn't."? How many doctors would we have if they said,"Meical school is hard, I think I'll quite before I start."? Those who focus on the obstacles never see the goal. 3. No. I am not a Libertarian, but I am an individualist. I'm certainly not a Democrat or Republican. I support the Constitution and the political ideals of our Founding Fathers, but I'm not a Constitutionalist - to much church and state. 4. Are you saying I'm right-wing or you are?
Funding the Government Insurance/Nationalized Health plan, is as simple as this..Liberals and Democrats? n terms of savings for you as a Medicare recipient," President Obama told a town hall attendee yesterday, "the biggest (change) is on prescription drugs, because the prescription drug companies have already said that they would be willing to put up $80 billion in rebates for prescription drugs as part of a health care reform package." "A billion here, a billion there, and pretty soon you're talking real money," the late Senator Everett Dirksen is supposed to have said.* And so it is today with health care fraud, a burgeoning crime plague that's adding up in a big way, big-ticket scheme after big-ticket scheme, essentially costing you money every time you walk into a hospital or doctor's office or fill a prescription, whether you know it or not. The National Health Care Anti-Fraud Association estimates that this fraud collectively costs Americans between $60 billion and $100 billion a year. Ouch. What would be the savings encountered when streamlining paperwork? What would be the cost savings when "reforming" tort law? What would be the savings when reforming Malpractice claims? Give me a break, proposing to get "into my life" alienate me from my most basic liberties, control the very independence of what it is to be an AMERICAN. Washington NEEDS to fix the problems on their doorstep and stay away from mine! With those numbers above do you honestly believe I will forfeit my patriotism for your ineptness ( http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/inept) to correct the problems you have right now, but are unwilling to pursue? Not until Washington listens...

Exactly what dream is Kennedy referring to? Would that be the failed war on poverty or the bankrupt social security promise, or the failed welfare system, or the failed immigration policy or...its actually a really long list and I don't have time to list them all. And don't you silly libs answer by bringing up the republicans. That's not an answer! That's what 5 year old do. This is a debate/question about so-called democratic programs and principles that are proven failures. The dream Kennedy is referring to is dead. Its been dead. What hs is referring to is the idea that you should have more government in your life and you should give up more of your liberty to live the kind of life you want. His dream is a socialist state where he tells you how to live, how to spend your money, what kind of light bulbs to use, when to drive, how many hours you can work, what to think, eat, and drink. What medical procedure your allowed to have, etc. This all of course only applies to you and me, not to elites like kennedy. If you or I had what he has we would be dead. You see kennedy has a very special kind of health insurance one that's not available to us and will not be under ANY national health plan. p.s. - since the country is broke, how exactly are we going to fund all these new socialist programs?
need help with speech!! silly super hero story.? my assignment is to present an award or eulogy to thier favorite super hero. real or made up. present 3 biological facts and one personal anecdote within the main body of speech. full introduction, attention getter, orienting material, full conclusion, clincher. mine needs help!! any suggestions?? the introduction and conclusion need help:) plus it needs to be more then 3 minutes. Good evening everyone and thank you for being here to honor the brave and amazing super hero of all times bacon man. Bacon man was born in 1977 at Hillshire farms. He was the only piece of bacon given a cape and a mask. From day one he began fighting crime and made headlines everywhere. He had his own TV show and sold millions of dollars in movies and figurines. At his peak of crime fighting, he was even more famous then Spiderman and batman. I remember the day when there was a terrible grease storm in Rockford. Everyone was scared for their lives and hid in the basements of their homes. Bacon man had no fear and sucked up all the grease from the sky like a sponge until he almost exploded. I remember everyone cheering him on this day and declaring it national bacon man day. We still celebrate November 15 in Rockford to this day. His sides kick Canadian bacon man could never keep up with his passion for crime fighting. He was always jealous of him. Like many great athletes of our time, Michael Jordan and Bret farve, bacon man wanted to try out retirement. He tried to work as a people greeter for Wal-Mart. He tried being the mascot for liberty tax service, but he was too small and no one could see him standing on the side of the road. He even tried to film a TV commercial for geiko car insurance. No one appreciated his talents. So he gave up the car insurance to the gecko and returned to the life of fighting crime. Unfortunately his return to crime fighting would be a mistake. Reports say he has been missing for over a year now. Sources say he had a dispute with Hillshire farms over a new superhero, maple brown sugar bacon women. He threw a fit when he found out that he could be replaced by a woman. He got so angry one night flying about; he flew into a blt and was eaten. Sources claim the blt was very delicious and filled with bacon and loads of juicy tomatoes. Later that night, bacon mans cape and mask were discovered on a plate of dishes from a waitress at a local IHOP restaurant. Was bacon man eaten or did he finally retire and disappear? No one knows to this day. Thank you everyone for your time tonight to honor bacon man and his amazing story. Rockford will never be the same without him.
A few questions for conservatives about where they stand on certain issues. All answers are appreciated...? It seems that one of the common tenets beheld by Tea Party supporters is that Obama's presidency marks a shift towards socialism and, by extension, a repression of liberty. So where do you stand on these issues? Legalization of marijuana? Marijuana has been shown to be less harmful than both tobacco and alcohol. Euthanasia? Why shouldn't one be allowed to end his own life? Recently, Glenn Beck attacked the campaign in Canada to legalize euthanasia by comparing it to Nazism. Clip can be found here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eFWOLSIhYMg Compulsory education? One of the more controversial aspects of the health care bill was a mandate requiring people to purchase health insurance. Conservatives attacked this, saying a tax levied upon inactivity is a breach of liberty, which is tantamount to socialism/fascism/whatever. However, in every state if you don't send your children to school you can fined or in some states even jailed--and as anyone with a school-aged child knows, public education isn't free. But I've never seen Tea Partyers address this putative breach of liberty, let alone deem it "socialist." Patriot Act? Yeah, I know, Obama didn't repeal it (and trust me, as a liberal I'm not happy about that), but I'm curious where YOU stand. Support it? It does seem like a much more egregious violation of liberty than taxes. Gay marriage? In California a judged overturned proposition 8, claiming there was no rational basis to deny gays/lesbians the right to marry. Sure, it was democratic (70% supported Prop 8), but so were bans on interracial marriage in the South. Travel restrictions to people infected with HIV? Upon entering the Oval Office, Obama ended restrictions of travel to those who are HIV-positive. This is a classic case of individual rights/liberty vs. the common good. Where do you stand? I won't ask about abortion. Although I'm pro-choice, I think it's unfair to frame it as an issue of liberty, because it is plausible to view the matter as one of life and death. On a tangential note, I'm with you when it comes to firearms. But I've got one more for you: taxes and the debt. Tea Partyers are very adamant about reducing the debt. They're also vocal about decreasing taxes. While the Laffer Curve does predict that it is feasible to reduce taxes and reduce revenue if taxes, it was shown during the Reagan administration that this was not the case. Reagan cut the top marginal tax rate from 70% to 28%. To offset it, he dipped into social security; nevertheless, his fiscal policy caused the national debt to triple. So my question to you is, how do you reconcile tax cuts with reducing the deficit? I understand you want to reduce government spending, but only 40% of the spending is discretionary (the rest includes things like interest on the debt, social security, etc.), and even if you cut ALL discretionary (including eliminating the military), we'll still be adding to the debt. @ Casey "you seem to not know the difference between republicans, and conservatives" I don't see how you come to that conclusion, considering I didn't use the word "republican" once. Please stop dodging my question. If you consider yourself a small government conservative, this question applies to you. Thanks and hope you revise your answer.

Is this the Republican agenda for next election cicle? 1) Greatly reduce or entirely eliminate taxes on the rich, thereby forcing hard-pressed working families to painfully make up resulting revenue shortfalls. 2) Bust labor unions, cruelly preventing the collective bargaining that's the key reason why US workers ever won decent wages and benefits. 3) Stubbornly deny the existence of ominous climate change while blithely pumping more pollutants into the environment from lucrative, dirty industries and practices. Although reputable scientists say 350 carbon parts per atmospheric million is the safe limit for sustained life on Earth, Republicans dismiss the frightening fact that we're already at a carbon level of roughly 390 ppm. 4) Remove "restrictive" regulations on everything from investment banks and credit card companies to a broad array of "profit-eroding" consumer protections, leaving the American masses exposed to a host of resulting abuses and dangers. 5) Continue to criticize and insufficiently fund public education, advocating private schooling instead, thus entirely ignoring that progressive public systems are used in every country that has education outcomes superior to our own. 6) Outlaw abortion, under a fraudulently moral guise, compelling the US to bloodily join those benighted, backward nations where thousands of already-born, living, breathing, socially functioning females perish because of sexist denials of their basic reproductive rights. 7) Continue to recite a Pledge of Allegiance whose last six words are "with liberty and justice for all," while remaining numbly oblivious to the harsh hypocrisy of preventing our homosexual citizens from marrying. 8) Speak often and loftily of freedom, but engage in secret wiretapping, repression of domestic dissent, neo-McCarthyite witch hunts, Red-baiting name calling, and a panoply of Patriot Act transgressions against the Constitution of the United States...all under the misused rubric of "national security." 9) Show the rest of humankind nothing but bullying world-cop arrogance through endless US interventions and aggressions on foreign soil, resulting not just in countless lives extinguished in indefensible wars, and billions of badly-needed dollars flushed down the drain, but constant al Qaeda recruitment against hated Yankee interlopers. 10) Generally drive down the income levels of America's working-class majority, as a purported cost-saving corporate measure, without appreciating that a populace that's too poor to buy back what society produces is doomed to economic ruin. A living wage is the ultimate "stimulus," but try to find even one Republican who favors it! 11) Continue to lie about the alternative, affordable health care for all that some fifty world nations' people overwhelmingly support, thereby propagandistically leading Americans to think that having private insurance whose premiums are rising at rates three times higher than our pay -- and which routinely denies coverage when it's required most -- is somehow preferable 12) Unleash de facto ethnic cleansing against 12 million immigrant men, women, and children, making them contemporary equivalents of the Jewish scapegoats that Hitler blamed for hardships Germans experienced during a prior period of capitalist economic distress. 13) Shamefully try to lend credence to their avarice and social irresponsibility by revising the Bible to obscure passages that place human need before abject greed, attempting to turn it into a facilitating guide for modern peers of the temple moneychangers whose tables Jesus angrily knocked to the floor (and who undoubtedly wouldn't be mentioned in the amended version that one conservative group is actually, amazingly trying to put into circulation). 14) Give full vent to the intensely bigoted hatred that has crazed extremists dreaming of literally tearing Barack Obama to pieces and gassing all liberals...if only they could. 15) Place the livelihoods and lives of over 300 million Americans in the hands of incompetent ideological "purists" such as Sarah Palin.
Does the American Parties need a Total overhaul because they are both not out for the intrest of the people? Because thats what it seems it seems that both the republicans and dems sold us out to the lobbyist. They have done little if any to help the American people out in anyway and help the corperation that put us into this mess in the first place. I think that a republican system would work if we totally revamp the party go back to the old was (Abraham Lincoln) which was Liberty, Patriotism,Family,Pride,Industry (translation global age) Piety, and Pluraism. Erase all the religion race, sexual oritation, and national origin difference and be more tolerant in working together in building a stronger and global force America. And have more unity within each other instead of the corperations. Now if these big insurance companies in anyway tries to screw us again buy layoff their lower half yet giving record setting ratings to people who don't deserve it then we tax them not thousand or even1 or 2 millon but in the 50 to 100 million dollar range and the federal government will have to pay all the people who they screwd out of their life savings back with high rate intrest. I don't know what do you guys think?

This would help keep job in the U.S.
Can Government stay away from my Constitutional rights? With those numbers above do you honestly believe I will forfeit my patriotism for your ineptness ( http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionar… to correct the problems you have right now, but are unwilling to pursue? Stay away from my rights!
What are your thoughts on this? Barack Obama is the best thing that has happened to America in the last 100 years. Truly, he is the savior of America 's future. Despite the fact that he has some of the lowest approval ratings among recent presidents, history will see Barack Obama as the source of America 's resurrection. Barack Obama has plunged the country into levels of debt that we could not have previously imagined; his efforts to nationalize health care have been met with fierce resistance nationwide; TARP bailouts and stimulus spending have shown little positive effect on the national economy; unemployment is unacceptably high and looks to remain that way for most of a decade; legacy entitlement programs have ballooned to unsustainable levels, and there is a seething anger in the populace. That's why Barack Obama is such a good thing for America. Here's why. Obama is the symbol of a creeping liberalism that has infected our society like a cancer for the last 100 years. Just as Hitler is the face of fascism, Obama will go down in history as the face of unchecked liberalism. The cancer metastasized to the point where it could no longer be ignored. Average Americans who have quietly gone about their lives, earning a paycheck, contributing to their favorite charities, going to high school football games on Friday night, spending their weekends at the beach or on hunting trips - they've gotten off the fence. They've woken up. There is a level of political activism in this country that we haven't seen since the American Revolution, and Barack Obama has been the catalyst that has sparked a restructuring of the American political and social consciousness. Think of the crap we've slowly learned to tolerate over the past 50 years as liberalism sought to re-structure the America that was the symbol of freedom and liberty to all the people of the world. Immigration laws were ignored on the basis of compassion. Welfare policies encouraged irresponsibility, the fracturing of families, and a cycle of generations of dependency. Debt was regarded as a tonic to lubricate the economy. Our children left school having been taught that they are exceptional and special, while great numbers of them cannot perform basic functions of mathematics and literacy. Legislators decided that people could not be trusted to defend their own homes, and stripped citizens of their rights to own firearms. Productive members of society have been penalized with a heavy burden of taxes in order to support legions of do-nothings who loll around, reveling in their addictions, obesity, indolence, ignorance and "disabilities." Criminals have been arrested and re-arrested, coddled and set free to pillage the citizenry yet again. Lawyers routinely extort fortunes from doctors, contractors and business people with dubious torts. We slowly learned to tolerate these outrages, shaking our heads in disbelief, and we went on with our lives. But Barack Obama has ripped the lid off a seething cauldron of dissatisfaction and unrest. A former Communist is given a paid government position in the White House as an advisor to the president. Auto companies are taken over by the government, and the auto workers' union - whose contracts are completely insupportable in any economic sense - is rewarded with a stake in the company. Government bails out Wall Street investment bankers and insurance companies, who pay their executives outrageous bonuses as thanks for the public support. Terrorists are read their Miranda rights and given free lawyers. And, despite overwhelming public disapproval, Barack Obama has pushed forward with a health care plan that would re-structure one-sixth of the American economy. Literally millions of Americans have had enough. They're organizing, they're studying the Constitution and the Federalist Papers, they're reading history and case law, they're showing up at rallies and meetings, and a slew of conservative candidates are throwing their hats into the ring. Is there a revolution brewing? Yes, in the sense that there is a keen awareness that our priorities and sensibilities must be radically re-structured. Will it be a violent revolution? No. It will be done through the interpretation of the original document that has guided us for 220 "FANTASTIC" years--- the Constitution. Just as the pendulum swung to embrace political correctness and liberalism, there will be a backlash, a complete repudiation of a hundred years of nonsense. A hundred years from now, history will perceive the year 2010 as the time when America got back on the right track. And for that, we can thank Barack Hussein Obama. does this job sound like a scam to you? I recently got offered a position with Liberty National Life Insurance, they need agents, which is a pretty work at home job, here's the catch, I got to pay $100 to get state licensed, he sounded pretty nonchalant about me doing my own research and calling him back if I was still interested sound like a scam?

Those, who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor? I have heard this quoted by Roosevelt. re: Re: giving up our freedoms. What was he really saying? I just don't take it the way it gets quoted. Not looking for an argument looking for a discussion. thanks Our Documents: Franklin Roosevelt's Annual Address to Congress - The "Four Freedoms" January 6, 1941 Mr. President, Mr. Speaker, Members of the Seventy-seventh Congress: I address you, the Members of the Seventy-seventh Congress, at a moment unprecedented in the history of the Union. I use the word "unprecedented," because at no previous time has American security been as seriously threatened from without as it is today. Since the permanent formation of our Government under the Constitution, in 1789, most of the periods of crisis in our history have related to our domestic affairs. Fortunately, only one of these--the four-year War Between the States--ever threatened our national unity. Today, thank God, one hundred and thirty million Americans, in forty-eight States, have forgotten points of the compass in our national unity. It is true that prior to 1914 the United States often had been disturbed by events in other Continents. We had even engaged in two wars with European nations and in a number of undeclared wars in the West Indies, in the Mediterranean and in the Pacific for the maintenance of American rights and for the principles of peaceful commerce. But in no case had a serious threat been raised against our national safety or our continued independence. What I seek to convey is the historic truth that the United States as a nation has at all times maintained clear, definite opposition, to any attempt to lock us in behind an ancient Chinese wall while the procession of civilization went past. Today, thinking of our children and of their children, we oppose enforced isolation for ourselves or for any other part of the Americas. That determination of ours, extending over all these years, was proved, for example, during the quarter century of wars following the French Revolution. While the Napoleonic struggles did threaten interests of the United States because of the French foothold in the West Indies and in Louisiana, and while we engaged in the War of 1812 to vindicate our right to peaceful trade, it is nevertheless clear that neither France nor Great Britain, nor any other nation, was aiming at domination of the whole world. In like fashion from 1815 to 1914-- ninety-nine years-- no single war in Europe or in Asia constituted a real threat against our future or against the future of any other American nation. Except in the Maximilian interlude in Mexico, no foreign power sought to establish itself in this Hemisphere; and the strength of the British fleet in the Atlantic has been a friendly strength. It is still a friendly strength. Even when the World War broke out in 1914, it seemed to contain only small threat of danger to our own American future. But, as time went on, the American people began to visualize what the downfall of democratic nations might mean to our own democracy. We need not overemphasize imperfections in the Peace of Versailles. We need not harp on failure of the democracies to deal with problems of world reconstruction. We should remember that the Peace of 1919 was far less unjust than the kind of "pacification" which began even before Munich, and which is being carried on under the new order of tyranny that seeks to spread over every continent today. The American people have unalterably set their faces against that tyranny. Every realist knows that the democratic way of life is at this moment being' directly assailed in every part of the world--assailed either by arms, or by secret spreading of poisonous propaganda by those who seek to destroy unity and promote discord in nations that are still at peace. During sixteen long months this assault has blotted out the whole pattern of democratic life in an appalling number of independent nations, great and small. The assailants are still on the march, threatening other nations, great and small. Therefore, as your President, performing my constitutional duty to "give to the Congress information of the state of the Union," I find it, unhappily, necessary to report that the future and the safety of our country and of our democracy are overwhelmingly involved in events far beyond our borders. Armed defense of democratic existence is now being gallantly waged in four continents. If that defense fails, all the population and all the resources of Europe, Asia, Africa and Australasia will be dominated by the conquerors. Let us remember that the total of those populations and their resources in those four continents greatly exceeds the sum total of the population and the resources of the whole of the Western Hemisphere-many times over. In times like these it is immature--and incidentally, untrue--for anybody to brag that an unprepared America, single-handed, and with one hand tied behind its back, can hold off the whole world. No realistic American can expect from a dictator's peace international generosity, or return of true independence, or world disarmament, or freedom of expression, or freedom of religion -or even good business. Such a peace would bring no security for us or for our neighbors. "Those, who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety." As a nation, we may take pride in the fact that we are softhearted; but we cannot afford to be soft-headed. We must always be wary of those who with sounding brass and a tinkling cymbal preach the "ism" of appeasement. We must especially beware of that small group of selfish men who would clip the wings of the American eagle in order to feather their own nests. I have recently pointed out how quickly the tempo of modern warfare could bring into our very midst the physical attack which we must eventually expect if the dictator nations win this war. There is much loose talk of our immunity from immediate and direct invasion from across the seas. Obviously, as long as the British Navy retains its power, no such danger exists. Even if there were no British Navy, it is not probable that any enemy would be stupid enough to attack us by landing troops in the United States from across thousands of miles of ocean, until it had acquired strategic bases from which to operate. But we learn much from the lessons of the past years in Europe-particularly the lesson of Norway, whose essential seaports were captured by treachery and surprise built up over a series of years. The first phase of the invasion of this Hemisphere would not be the landing of regular troops. The necessary strategic points would be occupied by secret agents and their dupes- and great numbers of them are already here, and in Latin America. As long as the aggressor nations maintain the offensive, they-not we--will choose the time and the place and the method of their attack. That is why the future of all the American Republics is today in serious danger. That is why this Annual Message to the Congress is unique in our history. That is why every member of the Executive Branch of the Government and every member of the Congress faces great responsibility and great accountability. The need of the moment is that our actions and our policy should be devoted primarily-almost exclusively--to meeting this foreign peril. For all our domestic problems are now a part of the great emergency. Just as our national policy in internal affairs has been based upon a decent respect for the rights and the dignity of all our fellow men within our gates, so our national policy in foreign affairs has been based on a decent respect for the rights and dignity of all nations, large and small. And the justice of morality must and will win in the end. Our national policy is this: First, by an impressive expression of the public will and without regard to partisanship, we are committed to all-inclusive national defense. Second, by an impressive expression of the public will and without regard to partisanship, we are committed to full support of all those resolute peoples, everywhere, who are resisting aggression and are thereby keeping war away from our Hemisphere. By this support, we express our determination that the democratic cause shall prevail; and we strengthen the defense and the security of our own nation. Third, by an impressive expression of the public will and without regard to partisanship, we are committed to the proposition that principles of morality and considerations for our own security will never permit us to acquiesce in a peace dictated by aggressors and sponsored by appeasers. We know that enduring peace cannot be bought at the cost of other people's freedom. In the recent national election there was no substantial difference between the two great parties in respect to that national policy. No issue was fought out on this line before the American electorate. Today it is abundantly evident that American citizens everywhere are demanding and supporting speedy and complete action in recognition of obvious danger. Therefore, the immediate need is a swift and driving increase in our armament production. Leaders of industry and labor have responded to our summons. Goals of speed have been set. In some cases these goals are being reached ahead of time; in some cases we are on schedule; in other cases there are slight but not serious delays; and in some cases--and I am sorry to say very important cases--we are all concerned by the slowness of the accomplishment of our plans. The Army and Navy, however, have made substantial progress during the past year. Actual experience is improving and speeding up our methods of production with every passing day. And today's best is not good enough for tomorrow. I am not satisfied with the progress thus far made. The men in charge of the program represent the best in training, in ability, and in patriotism. They are not satisfied with the progress thus far made. None of us will be satisfied until the job is done. No matter whether the original goal was set too high or too low, our objective is quicker and better results. To give you two illustrations: We are behind schedule in turning out finished airplanes; we are working day and night to solve the innumerable problems and to catch up. We are ahead of schedule in building warships but we are working to get even further ahead of that schedule. To change a whole nation from a basis of peacetime production of implements of peace to a basis of wartime production of implements of war is no small task. And the greatest difficulty comes at the beginning of the program, when new tools, new plant facilities, new assembly lines, and new ship ways must first be constructed before the actual materiel begins to flow steadily and speedily from them. The Congress, of course, must rightly keep itself informed at all times of the progress of the program. However, there is certain information, as the Congress itself will readily recognize, which, in the interests of our own security and those of the nations that we are supporting, must of needs be kept in confidence. New circumstances are constantly begetting new needs for our safety. I shall ask this Congress for greatly increased new appropriations and authorizations to carry on what we have begun. I also ask this Congress for authority and for funds sufficient to manufacture additional munitions and war supplies of many kinds, to be turned over to those nations which are now in actual war with aggressor nations. Our most useful and immediate role is to act as an arsenal for them as well as for ourselves. They do not need man power, but they do need billions of dollars worth of the weapons of defense. The time is near when they will not be able to pay for them all in ready cash. We cannot, and we will not, tell them that they must surrender, merely because of present inability to pay for the weapons which we know they must have. I do not recommend that we make them a loan of dollars with which to pay for these weapons--a loan to be repaid in dollars. I recommend that we make it possible for those nations to continue to obtain war materials in the United States, fitting their orders into our own program. Nearly all their materiel would, if the time ever came, be useful for our own defense. Taking counsel of expert military and naval authorities, considering what is best for our own security, we are free to decide how much should be kept here and how much should be sent abroad to our friends who by their determined and heroic resistance are giving us time in which to make ready our own defense. For what we send abroad, we shall be repaid within a reasonable time following the close of hostilities, in similar materials, or, at our option, in other goods of many kinds, which they can produce and which we need. Let us say to the democracies: "We Americans are vitally concerned in your defense of freedom. We are putting forth our energies, our resources and our organizing powers to give you the strength to regain and maintain a free world. We shall send you, in ever-increasing numbers, ships, planes, tanks, guns. This is our purpose and our pledge." In fulfillment of this purpose we will not be intimidated by the threats of dictators that they will regard as a breach of international law or as an act of war our aid to the democracies which dare to resist their aggression. Such aid is not an act of war, even if a dictator should unilaterally proclaim it so to be. When the dictators, if the dictators, are ready to make war upon us, they will not wait for an act of war on our part. They did not wait for Norway or Belgium or the Netherlands to commit an act of war. Their only interest is in a new one-way international law, which lacks mutuality in its observance, and, therefore, becomes an instrument of oppression. The happiness of future generations of Americans may well depend upon how effective and how immediate we can make our aid felt. No one can tell the exact character of the emergency situations that we may be called upon to meet. The Nation's hands must not be tied when the Nation's life is in danger. We must all prepare to make the sacrifices that the emergency-almost as serious as war itself--demands. Whatever stands in the way of speed and efficiency in defense preparations must give way to the national need. A free nation has the right to expect full cooperation from all groups. A free nation has the right to look to the leaders of business, of labor, and of agriculture to take the lead in stimulating effort, not among other groups but within their own groups. The best way of dealing with the few slackers or trouble makers in our midst is, first, to shame them by patriotic example, and, if that fails, to use the sovereignty of Government to save Government. As men do not live by bread alone, they do not fight by armaments alone. Those who man our defenses, and those behind them who build our defenses, must have the stamina and the courage which come from unshakable belief in the manner of life which they are defending. The mighty action that we are calling for cannot be based on a disregard of all things worth fighting for. The Nation takes great satisfaction and much strength from the things which have been done to make its people conscious of their individual stake in the preservation of democratic life in America. Those things have toughened the fibre of our people, have renewed their faith and strengthened their devotion to the institutions we make ready to protect. Certainly this is no time for any of us to stop thinking about the social and economic problems which are the root cause of the social revolution which is today a supreme factor in the world. For there is nothing mysterious about the foundations of a healthy and strong democracy. The basic things expected by our people of their political and economic systems are simple. They are: Equality of opportunity for youth and for others. Jobs for those who can work. Security for those who need it. The ending of special privilege for the few. The preservation of civil liberties for all. The enjoyment of the fruits of scientific progress in a wider and constantly rising standard of living. These are the simple, basic things that must never be lost sight of in the turmoil and unbelievable complexity of our modern world. The inner and abiding strength of our economic and political systems is dependent upon the degree to which they fulfill these expectations. Many subjects connected with our social economy call for immediate improvement. As examples: We should bring more citizens under the coverage of old-age pensions and unemployment insurance. We should widen the opportunities for adequate medical care. We should plan a better system by which persons deserving or needing gainful employment may obtain it. I have called for personal sacrifice. I am assured of the willingness of almost all Americans to respond to that call. A part of the sacrifice means the payment of more money in taxes. In my Budget Message I shall recommend that a greater portion of this great defense program be paid for from taxation than we are paying today. No person should try, or be allowed, to get rich out of this program; and the principle of tax payments in accordance with ability to pay should be constantly before our eyes to guide our legislation. If the Congress maintains these principles, the voters, putting patriotism ahead of pocketbooks, will give you their applause. In the future days, which we seek to make secure, we look forward to a world founded upon four essential human freedoms. The first is freedom of speech and expression--everywhere in the world. The second is freedom of every person to worship God in his own way--everywhere in the world. The third is freedom from want--which, translated into world terms, means economic understandings which will secure to every nation a healthy peacetime life for its inhabitants-everywhere in the world. The fourth is freedom from fear--which, translated into world terms, means a world-wide reduction of armaments to such a point and in such a thorough fashion that no nation will be in a position to commit an act of physical aggression against any neighbor--anywhere in the world. That is no vision of a distant millennium. It is a definite basis for a kind of world attainable in our own time and generation. That kind of world is the very antithesis of the so-called new order of tyranny which the dictators seek to create with the crash of a bomb. To that new order we oppose the greater conception--the moral order. A good society is able to face schemes of world domination and foreign revolutions alike without fear. Since the beginning of our American history, we have been engaged in change -- in a perpetual peaceful revolution -- a revolution which goes on steadily, quietly adjusting itself to changing conditions--without the concentration camp or the quick-lime in the ditch. The world order which we seek is the cooperation of free countries, working together in a friendly, civilized society. This nation has placed its destiny in the hands and heads and hearts of its millions of free men and women; and its faith in freedom under the guidance of God. Freedom means the supremacy of human rights everywhere. Our support goes to those who struggle to gain those rights or keep them. Our strength is our unity of purpose. To that high concept there can be no end save victory. Nosey girl lol. yes I do have alot of time on my hands. for those of you who have answered thank you. The way I took what he said was less about our personal freedom and more about letting others do our fighting for us. but that's just me.
Can someone proofread my essay? Just fix some grammar and spelling issues, and maybe gimme advice or whatnot. Thanks! you can send it after your proofread it to my email if you want! And please no rude comments on my position on health care. “Great physicians and nurses, skilled, caring and unparalleled in their training, intervened in my life and probably saved it. I was lucky but other Americans are not. It is time to speak again and stand again for the ideal that in the richest nation ever on this planet, it is wrong for 41 million Americans, most of them in working families, to worry at night and wake up in the morning without the basic protection of health care.” -Senator John Kerry The United States of America is the only wealthy, industrialized nation in the whole world that does not offer some sort of socialized medicine. Our current health care system consumes more money than similar nations, yet still leaves over 42 million Americans uninsured. 42 million Americans live in fear that they will substain some sort of injury and illness that could potentially put them in major debt or bankruptcy. For the sole superpower in the world, this is unacceptable. Health Care is a fundamental right that should be upheld by the United States government in order to maintain public health and keep it’s citizens thriving. A system that allows health care only to be attained by your income or your employer’s benefits is contrary to the belief that Americans have the right to Life, Liberty, and pursuit of Happiness. The United States of America spends more on health care than any other country in the world. Countries that utilize Universal health care are spending lesss money than the United States, yet still have a more effficent health care system. In the United States, total health spending accounted for 15.3% of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in the United States. In comparison, in Canada it was 10%, Switerland 11.3%, France 11.1%, and Germany 10.6%. The problem with the United States health care system is that that not all of this money spent on health care is actually getting to the hospitals and patients. A study shown at the Harvard Medical School found that Health care bureaucracy cost the United States 399.4 billion dollars in 2003, that is 31% of total health care spending in the United States (Thomson 62). Compare that to 16.7% for Canada (Thomson 62). Despite all these high costs of health care the United States still has over forty-two million people without health care and millions more with inadequate health care. It’s estimated that by switching to Universal health care the United States could cut back spending by as much as 286 million annualy. (Thomson 63). It is estimated that with the 286 billion dollars we’d save with a Universal health care policy, we would be enough to cover all of the uninsured and provide full prescirption drug coverage to everyone (Thomson 63). The United States’s health care performance has been slowly going downhill since the 1980’s. With the colossal amounts of money that United States spends on Health care efficency would be expected. Twenty years ago the United States had the highest life expetancy with the same health care system we use today. As of today the World Health Organization (or WHO) ranked the United States thirty-seventh for overall health care performance (Thomson 56). This decrease in efficency is due to other countries adopting Universal health plans, leaving the United States in the dust. In Canada for example, Canadians live on average three years longer then their American-counterparts. The Canadian infant mortality rate also stood at 5.4 deaths per a thousand babies. In comparison, the United States’s infant mortality rate is 6.9, with countries like Japan, Sweden, Norway, and Finland all having some of the lowest infant mortality rates. Even countries in the developing world are suprassing the United States. A baby born in El Salvador for example, has a higher chance of surviving than a baby born in Detroit. This is all astounding considering the billions of dollars we spend on health care. Competing countries are spending less money per person for health care and yet still have a healthier public with no one uninsured. This is a wake-up call to the United States government; we need a national health care policy or we will fall behind other nations on general public health. Over eighteen thousand Americans die every year of lack of health insurance; this denotes that Americans are suffering with lack of Universal health care. Granted, not all of uninsured Americans die, but the consequences can still be dire. Almost almost 50% of all bankrupcty filings cited as due to medical causes (Michael Moore) With Universal health care, these numbers would be nil. Even with our socalized medicine for seniors, Medicare, is ineffective. Medicare doesn’t cover all medical expenses. Medicare covers only 75% of the first 2,250 dollars worth of drugs due tomorrow haha

Religion and Government are Intertwined: Governments in fascist nations tend to use the most common religion in the nation as a tool to manipulate public opinion. Corporate Power is Protected: The industrial and business aristocracy of a fascist nation often are the ones who put the government leaders into power, creating a mutually beneficial business/government relationship and power elite. The K Street Project is a project by the Republican party to pressure Washington lobbying firms to hire Republicans in top positions, and to reward loyal GOP lobbyists with access to influential officials. It was launched in 1995, by Republican strategist Grover Norquist and House majority leader Tom DeLay. Labor Department warns unions against using their money politically President Bush Attacks Organized Labor: Bush attacked organized labor Saturday, issuing orders effectively reducing how much money unions can spend for political activities and opening up government contracts to non-union bidding. March 2001: President Bush signed his name to four executive orders on organized labor last month, including one that cuts the money unions will have for political campaign spending. Congress and the Department of Labor are trying to change the rules on overtime pay, eliminating the 40 hour work week, taking eligibility for overtime pay away from millions of workers, and replacing time and a half pay with comp days. More... 11.) Disdain for Intellectuals and the Arts: Fascist nations tend to promote and tolerate open hostility to higher education, and academia. It is not uncommon for professors and other academics to be censored or even arrested. Free expression in the arts is openly attacked, and governments often refuse to fund the arts. Bush's new economic plan cuts funding for arts, education Artists from all over the world are being refused entry to the US on security grounds. Obsession with Crime and Punishment: Under fascist regimes, the police are given almost limitless power to enforce laws. The people are often willing to overlook police abuses and even forego civil liberties in the name of patriotism. There is often a national police force with virtually unlimited power in fascist nations American Gestapo is here: "There is hereby created and established a permanent police force, to be known as the 'United States Secret Service Uniformed Division.'" America: secret jails, secret courts, secret arrests, and now secret laws Snitch-or-Go-to-Jail bill will make pretty much anything short of reporting on everyone you see for doing just about anything a jailable offense. With minimum sentences, up to and including life without parole. More... 13.) Rampant Cronyism and Corruption: Fascist regimes almost always are governed by groups of friends and associates who appoint each other to government positions and use governmental power and authority to protect their friends from accountability. It is not uncommon in fascist regimes for national resources and even treasures to be appropriated or even outright stolen by government leaders. Bush Cronyism: Foxes Guarding the henhouse Making Sense of the Abramoff Scandal If Bush's pick is confirmed, that will mean the five top appointees at Justice have zero prosecutorial experience among them. US Coalition Provisional Authority (CPA) lost track of $9 billion "Contracting in the aftermath of the hurricanes has been marked by waste, corruption and cronyism" More... 14. Fraudulent Elections: Sometimes elections in fascist nations are a complete sham. Other times elections are manipulated by smear campaigns against or even assassination of opposition candidates, use of legislation to control voting numbers or political district boundaries, and manipulation of the media. Fascist nations also typically use their judiciaries to manipulate or control elections. Posted By: shaista @ 03/01/2008 5:36:46 AM Comment: THE lunch hosted by Mr Asif Zardari for the newly elected members of the three leading parties on Feb 27 may well be remembered as a landmark in the long awaited transition to a democratic dispensation in Pakistan. The squalls that rocked the state on Oct 12, 1999 and in the form of the 17th amendment inflicted much damage. Then, the catastrophe of Nov 3 put all salvaging efforts beyond the capacity of any single party. The existing distortions in that historic but half-alive Constitution present a nightmare and demand the exercise of the highest form of political wisdom and legal expertise. The process of eliminating them by creating a new interface between politics and law has just begun. Pakistan???s present crisis is characterised by the bitter harvest of constitutional violations, growing imbalance between a power-hungry centre and the handicapped federating units, uncontrollable violence by ever-proliferating bands of extremists and, above all, by a rapidly rising table of sub-surface social anger at glaring inequalities of income and opportunity. A reasonably broad-based coalition government may provide a healing touch. There is no great virtue in a two-party system anymore as, for quite some time to come, regional aspirations will deepen particular identities of the constitutive elements of a diverse nation. The greatest achievement of the three top leaders present at Mr Zardari???s lunch is that they successfully persuaded their followers that these identities were perfectly compatible with an overarching national identity. Scratch the surface and lurking just beneath the protest against the humiliation of the higher judiciary and repeated violations of the Constitution is a palpable anguish of poverty and deprivation. Pakistan must eschew politics of vendetta but that does not mean that every crime against the state and society be brushed under the carpet. It needs a high-powered Commission on Truth, Justice and Reconciliation in the interest of historical accuracy and to build dykes for future security. We need to replace mercenary relations with relations based on mutual respect, community of interests and coordinated pursuit of common objectives within our respective national parameters. A strong and stable national coalition can be built around the present understanding between the PPP, PML-N and ANP. The US-led West should welcome it and not undermine it as it alone can make Pakistan???s battle against militant extremists effective The west should to withdraw their support from the one Musharaf who loathed by the people at maximum Posted By: shaista @ 03/01/2008 5:07:40 AM Comment: THE results of the election that took place on Feb 18 were astonishing. President Musharraf???s supporting party Pakistan Muslim League (Q) was wiped out and the ministers who were lucky enough to keep their seats are now at a safe distance from President Musharraf. The people at large want the president to go with no other choice. However, the US has been unduly interfering in our politics as its Assistant Secretary of State Richard Boucher has emphasised the need to continue President Musharraf???s rule. Pakistan has remained under military rule for more than half of its life, and the people no longer want any dictator to rule over them. As the PPP has secured the maximum number of seats, followed by the PML (N), the ties made between these parties also pose a serious challenge to the president???s stay any further in office. His rule for eight long years has brought many hardships to the nation and now he should quit The US slogan for democracy is and justice is just a slogan and in real and practicle not willing to be so for their own agenda From whome to expect the justice and democracy in the world the only power it self violate This is not the Musharaf pakistan but of 1,600/-Millions people and what they think of the rest This is not in the benifit of US to support the cruel one of the country who now the people think as Mechile G.Choaf The people and the young generation have very strong anti US sentiments due to their blind support of Dictator Musharaf This is not a good sign and this will increase with passage of time Posted By: eddiewhere @ 02/29/2008 2:12:44 AM Comment: IN THIS ENVIORNMENT OF ECONOMIC FEUDALISM WHERE THE MIDDLE CLASS MUST SUFFER IN ORDER TO INCREASE THE pROFITS OF MULTINATIONAL CORpORATIONS, WHO BENEFIT FROM CHEAp LABOR, THE AMERICAN DREAM HAS BEEN LOST. People in Pakistan voted in favor of Bhutto's party, not for Zardari, who was responsible for her twice ouster from the Premiership due to his shameful dirty roles of Mr.10%. Country's biggest grass root party preaching "Government of the People, by the People, for the People", which was founded on the basic principle of providing them respectable " Bread, Dress and Shelter", was created by Bhutto, hanged by a military dictator. Now, the party is orphaned in a bomb-blast death of his daughter during another military rule. Situation brings forth her rootless spouse, "Mr.Tenpercent Zardari", holding the People's mandate ( at ransom?), for endless exploits. Whatever the words mean, they cannot change the genes. The name "Zardari" literally means "Gold-Lord" and he lives his name literally. He was responsible for legislating and monopolizing gold import into Pakistan (through an Emirates based gold-tycoon of Pakistan origin) on a ridiculous 2% custom duty and made unfathomable ocean of fortune. If the US administration is ready," to let them have their rounds of discussions, still expecting the [Pakistani] Army to take the necessary military action, counting on an interesting transition", then the whole riddle is solved. The ongoing change in Pakistan is not a change of " act" in the drama being staged but, a "change of gear into a powerful all terrain drive", to move forward on the designed road-map, crossing effectively all rugged and bogging tracts en-route. Posted By: shaista @ 02/25/2008 5:19:05 AM Comment: The newly retired General Musharraf has displayed no intention of leaving office despite his king party losing even after plenty of evidence that he had planned to rig the elections. The caretaker government was anything but neutral and the Election Commission was suspect. But pressure from Washington compelled him to change his plans. Had he still engaged in massive rigging, not only would he have drawn Washington???s ire but also evoked ugly street protests. He knew that if the ???agitators??? caused the country to come to a standstill, the army would distance itself from him. Without their protection, he would not last a day in office. The habitual offender Musharaf this time fail for not carrying out a full pleadge crime of rigging due to international observer existing These people will never be convinced that it is time for the ex-general to go. To them, he is the embodiment of truth, the doer of all good things, and the prince of enlightened moderation without whom Pakistan would return to the Dark Ages. It is time for Musharraf, to wake up and realise that the game is over. Everything Musharraf stood for was repudiated on Feb 18. The electoral results have made it clear, beyond the shadow of a doubt, that the people do not wish to see Musharraf holding court on radio and television day in and day out. Aitzaz Ahsan spoke for millions when he said, ???Musharraf is the most hated & loathed man in Pakistan.??? During the last several months, poll after poll showed Musharraf???s popularity plummeting like a lead coin in a bottomless well. But he continued to reject the polls by saying that they only represented the views of a few thousand people and asserted vainly that he was vastly popular in the populous countryside. But even the King???s party was not taken in by the myths spun out by the monarch. It knew that once rigging was no longer an option, its fate was sealed. Why else would they seek to obtain the release of one of the key instigators of the Lal Masjid takeover, Abdul Aziz, just days prior to the vote? This was an obvious ploy designed to play on the religious sympathies of the people and to garner much needed votes. How else could one justify releasing a real and confirmed terrorist from jail while holding the nation???s eminent justices and barristers under house arrest? Musharraf had said not too long ago that he would step down when he saw that the people were no longer with him. He said he was continuing as president only because it was in the national interest. He would rather be playing golf or tennis, he noted, but the situation required him to sacrifice his personal interests. Well, the time has now come for him to do the nation a favour and quit as he is the only evil for this country. The only worry Americans have about the moment to keep up Musharraf in Presidency because Musharraf has amended the constitution in such a way no one else can do any thing without his consent and authority. This is worrisome for the new elected politicians. They know very much the hard fact that they have not been elected on merits, it is the hatred against Musharraf they have en-cashed. Because Musharraf have destroyed the true democrative spirit of the Pakistan???s Constitution by extremely autocratic and extra constitutional way before conducting the general election so that he could do the post election rigging. If those powers are not taken away from the presidency then the politicians will be nothing more than tools in his hands. If the politicians failed to restore highest court judges that will mean they are empty handed. Moreover they won???t be able to face their voters who have sent them Islamabad to clean up the mess and deliver good to them.
