PHILADELPHIA, PA -- Little Adolf Hitler Campbell's future may be shaped by two huge events he had no control over: the name his parents gave him and the day last December when a grocery store refused to put that name on his birthday cake. Adolf was only three. Now, his family says the fury over the cake episode may cost Adolf and his young sisters the one thing kids count on the most: their parents. Adolf's sisters also have names associated with Nazis: JoyceLynn Aryan Nation Campbell and Honszylynn Hinter Jeannie Campbell. Right now the Campbells get to visit their kids twice a week but Coverdale says five months after the kids were taken away, no one has given them any kind of detailed explanation. "They're not giving Heath and Debbie any information or telling them how to gain their kids back," Covendale said. "I truthfully think that Youth Services will put the kids up for adoption." State officials are not supposed to talk publicly about cases involving minors in order to protect the children. Heath Campbell said the agency told him in January the children were removed because they were in "imminent danger." The Campbells, in interviews, have continually denied being Nazi sympathizers or anything of the sort. The couple has defended the names of their children saying they found them in baby books and reserve the right to name their children whatever they like. "A name is a name," Heath Campbell said last December. Coverdale also defended the names earlier this year with this analogy: "What about tomorrow night when the President of the United States stands up and says, is forced to say, my name is Barack Hussein Obama. How's that going to hit the world?" Coverdale said. "I'm saying the one with the middle name he has, was a terrorist." She says it's "no different" than having a name like Adolf Hitler.
Hey Kate, ever hear of the Constitution of the U.S.? I recently asked a question about a gun. You jumped on me with both feet. I don't suppose you have ever heard of a document called the Constitution of the United States of America let alone read it. The second amendment guarentees the right to bear arms. If you think my simple question has anything to do with the kids shooting up schools you live on a different planet than the rest of us. Try looking at the video games they play and the movies they watch not to mention the music they listen to. Get my drift? My question made a lot more sense than 95% if the garbage out on ASK now, to wit: "Are you embarrassed by your wife's skid marks?" or maybe "How can I get my bf to love me?" Kate, maybe when you grow up you might understand this world a little better than you do now but, for now, stay away from serious questions and deal with the "skid marks" kind.
Should kids of illegal aliens who are here thru no fault of their own qualify for in-state college tuition? Think about U.S. citizens in other states who don't get the "in-state" college tuition rate of a neighbor state, yet a non-U.S. citizen kid of an illegal alien would qualify in many states. However, also think about the kid of an illegal alien who has been here since they were 1 (or 5, or 7) and are now 16/17 and applying to get into college. It wasn't their fault; it was their parents fault. Perhaps we should ensure they get legal status in a timely manner? We can't send them back at that age. Perhaps, in the end, that is the solution: pick a timeframe (for example, 3 years) and say, "If the Federal (U.S.) Government can't enforce its own rules, these people -- once found -- need to prove English proficiency and knowledge of the Constitution (same as any other applicant) to obtain legal status. Of course, improving federal enforcement will go a long way toward alleviating all these predicaments.

On behalf of the Centro de la Comunidad Hispana de Locust Valley and the Workplace Project, the lawsuit was filed by the New York Civil Liberties Union, American Civil Liberties Union and LatinoJustice PRLDEF. “This misguided ordinance uses public safety as a smokescreen for intolerance and violates the constitutional rights of day labors and all Oyster Bay residents,” said Samantha Fredrickson, director of the NYCLU’s Nassau County Chapter. “It is a symptom of the anti-immigrant hostility that has swept across Long Island and the country in recent years.” The lawsuit, filed in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York against the town of Oyster Bay and Town Supervisor John Venditto, maintains that the ordinance violates the First and Fourteenth Amendments of the U.S. Constitution. “The true purpose of this ordinance is to prevent a group of predominantly Latino day laborers from making a living in Oyster Bay,” said Cesar Perales, president and general counsel of LatinoJustice PRLDEF. “Day laborers are hardworking people and provide a valuable service to this community that we are all part of; their kids go to school here and they work, spend money and go to church. But as a result of this law, many of them have lost the ability to earn a living wage.” Enacted in September 2009, purportedly to address traffic and pedestrian safety, the Oyster Bay ordinance prohibits standing on the sidewalk to solicit employment and bars motorists from stopping to solicit employment or hire workers. Would A change to the Constitution help reduce illegal immigration? One of the problems with illegal aliens in this country is our Constitution. Article 14, Section 1 states that anyone born or naturalized in the U.S. is automatically a citizen. Thus the children of illegal aliens born in this country are American citizens. The Irish had the same provision in their Constitution until they had a flood of illegal aliens coming to their country and then having kids there. So, unlike our politicians, the Irish wrote and passed a new amendment to their Constitution that states that at least one parent must be an Irish citizen for the child to have Irish citizenship. This provision became law in June 2004. Why don't our politicians do the same thing?
Should there be an amendment added to the Constitution to end all aspects of illegal immigration? I think there should be an amendment added to stop the occurrence of border babies. If the mothe is in the U.S. illegally, the child doesn't get citizenship. Plain and simple. I think we should provide ER care to illegal immigrants, but no other resources that are put in place for U.S. citizens. I also think we should militarize the borders (Mexico & Canada) and allow those already here up to ONE year to pay a $2000-5000 fine and require them to speak English. If the illegal does not follow the rules, we deport them immediately--whether their kids are born here or not.

The likely new bill is for the kids. While SB 1070 essentially requires of-age migrants to have the proper citizenship paperwork, the potential "anchor baby" bill blocks the next generation from ever being able to obtain it. The idea is to make the citizenship process so difficult that illegal immigrants pull up the "anchor" and leave. The question is whether that would violate the U.S. Constitution. The 14th Amendment states that "all persons, born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States. No state shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States." Should we be calling Americans Anchor babies? DETROIT -- The American Civil Liberties Union of Michigan has filed a religious liberty lawsuit on behalf of a ninth-grader who is facing expulsion from a public charter school after he refused to comply with the dress code that requires all male students to maintain “closely cropped” hairstyles. Claudius Benson, 14, was enrolled in Old Redford Academy in Detroit for three days when he was suspended on grounds that he was not in compliance with the hair provisions of the school’s dress code. Benson’s mother said she strictly abides by various Old Testament provisions, including a passage in the book of Leviticus that forbids the cutting of hair. Benson has not cut his hair since he was 4 years old. "Punishing Claudius for practicing his religion is both unnecessary and illegal," said Kary L. Moss, Executive Director of the ACLU of Michigan. "Students should never have to choose between remaining faithful to their religion and getting an education." After Claudius’ suspension, his mother, Alecha Benson, appealed to the school’s governing board and outlined her religious beliefs. To this date, the school has refused to reinstate him. Before filing suit, the ACLU of Michigan sent a letter to the school’s attorney stating that Old Redford Academy was violating the religion and free speech clauses of The U.S. Constitution and the Michigan Elliot-Larsen Civil Rights Act of 1969. "We teach our kids about the Bill of Rights, about freedom and about tolerance," said Alecha. "Today my son is getting a real life lesson. This is about much more than a haircut. Is it wrong for a parent to keep Children away from Democratic Liberals? I don't mean on an absolute level. There are, of course, times when it can't be helped. By Howard Fischer Capitol Media Services Tucson, Arizona | Published: 04.28.2009 PHOENIX — Some border county sheriffs want Arizona schools to start asking students whether they're in this country legally. Pima County Sheriff Clarence Dupnik originated the idea and said millions of dollars in Arizona taxes go to teach English to children who have no legal right to be here. He also said there's a link involving illegal immigration, social problems and gangs. Only thing is, a 1982 U.S. Supreme Court decision appears to make it illegal for school officials to ask. In a 5-4 decision, the justices overturned a Texas law that authorized school districts to refuse to enroll anyone who couldn't prove legal residence. But Dupnik said it may be time for Arizona to have a test case to put the issue back before the high court — to see if the current justices agree. Dupnik has the backing of Yuma County Sheriff Ralph Ogden and Joe Arpaio, his Maricopa County counterpart. And Gov. Jan Brewer said she sees no reason why youngsters shouldn't be asked to prove they are U.S. citizens or legal residents. "When I grew up, when I went to school, when I moved from Nevada to California, I had to bring my birth certificate to prove I was a citizen," she said. But Attorney General Terry Goddard said he doesn't think schools have the expertise to determine legal status. And state Superintendent of Public Instruction Tom Horne said he believes the federal government should just do a better job of protecting the border. "But as long as kids are here, they should be in school," he said. "You don't want them on the street corner." Dupnik, however, has an answer for that: Have schools report their findings to Immigration and Customs Enforcement. "They would identify the people that are here illegally by the thousands and send them back, kids and parents," he said. The issue has financial implications: The Pew Hispanic Center estimates that 60,000 to 65,000 of the 1.2 million youngsters in Arizona schools are not in this country legally. The Department of Education figures basic state aid for students is about $6,000 a year, not counting what the state pays for school construction. That puts the price tag near $390 million — minus, of course, any taxes from illegal residents that go toward education funding. But that doesn't count the extra $360 per student Arizona now gives to schools to help English-language learners. Assuming two-thirds of these students fit that category, that adds $15 million to the tab. In 1982, however, the Supreme Court voided a 1975 Texas law that denied state aid to districts for children not "legally admitted" into the United States. That law also allowed districts to deny admission to those students. Attorneys for Texas argued that the 14th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, which entitles every person to equal protection of law, doesn't apply to those not in the country legally. "We reject this argument," Justice William Brennan wrote for the majority. "Whatever his status under the immigration laws, an alien is surely a 'person' in any ordinary sense of the term." And Brennan said education is the only way people can advance themselves. Tucson-area education leaders were hardly supportive of the sheriffs' idea. He was one of the two presidents who signed the U.S constitution. He was also the greatest president the U.S.A had ever had. He was also the only president inaugurated in two cities: New York and Philadelphia, nut he had to borrow money. “Washington's inauguration speech was 183 words long and took 90 seconds to read. This was because of his false teeth.” He was one of the biggest presidents the U.S.A had because he weighed 200 pounds and he was 6 feet and 2 inches. He was the oldest son of Augustine Washington and Mary Ball Washington, but when his dad died in 1743 he was only eleven, so his half brother Lawrence became apart of the household. George had three hound dogs, so he treated them as his own family. They had weird names their were Tarter, Sweet, and Sweet lips. George started school when he was six, but ended when he was fifteen. 10 points if you answer this question!!!! Can the student body of my school get in trouble? Well, I am a sophomore at a school in KY. Just recently our principal has really cracked down on us. He has told us that if we use a hall pass during class then the teacher has to use a "write up" (which is a discipline referral) then we get suspended, if we talk back we get suspended, we cannot use the bathroom or we get suspended, and we only have 4 minutes in between classes, and if we get a tardy we get suspended So far 4 people have gotten suspended, and more are on the verge and 25 have had in school detention, and one girl had an accident in class because she could not go to the bathroom. I have told all of this, to say this. On Monday December 14, 2009 our student body is planning a sit-in we are going to sit-in the gym and not go to class, because the principal refuses to talk to anyone, and a parent wrote our local news station that come to the school and talked to the principal and he LIED on television. Our school has around 500 kids in the whole high school, and we plan on having anywhere from 50-250 attend the sit-in. Can we get in trouble for this? Or are we just protecting our rights to go to the bathroom? And also the first amendment of the U.S Constitution says we have the right to assemble. Can we get into trouble??

Help me revise my paper? At last! That is what I thought in my head I had been waiting all year for this trip. The teachers at my school had been planning it all year as well. They carefully planned their studies around the trip so the last thing we learned about was the history of the United States. It was a Monday afternoon and every one had their luggage. My dad and I step up in to the bus, I had my suitcase in one hand and my dad holding the other. My dad volunteered to be one of the chaperons. Everyone piled in to the bus I think there was five busses total, everyone in my grade went. Then four hours later we arrived at Washington D.C. We checked into the hotel and started looking over the maps we found in our room. Later that night there was a meeting in one of the convention rooms we discussed our itinerary and had dinner. My dad and I went back to our room and tried to rest up for the next day but I was so nervous I couldn’t sleep. The next day came and everyone piled on the bus there was at least thirty kids on the bus we were on. After boarding the bus and numbering off we started our journey. A little bit in to the trip I heard a boy behind me shout, “Look, there it is!” I looked up and sure enough there was the Capitol building everyone then started taking pictures the flash on the bus was blinding. After that every one on the bus kept their faces glued to the windows in till we arrived. With in twenty minutes we could see it all, the Capitol, the Washington Monument, The Smithsonian Museum, The White House and so much more. It was an impressive view. The first stop we made was at John F Kennedy’s gravesite at the Arlington National Cemetery where John F Kennedy and his wife are buried and where the eternal flame burns brightly. After the gravesite we took a train to our next destination. Once the train stopped we arrived at Union Station. Every one got out of the train and we headed towards the Tomb of the Unknowns. Fortunately, we were just in time to see the changing of the guard, which happens at the bottom of every hour every day of the year. After lunch we began a trip around the city’s many memorials. First we visited the White House. The White House has been a symbol of presidency for two hundred years. President George Washington was the president who declared there must be a place for the presidents of the United States to reside they started construction on the White House in 1792. After the White House we visited the Franklin D. Roosevelt Memorial, there are four outdoor galleries each representing one of FDR’s terms in office with information on the Great Depression and World War II. We then went and climbed the stairs were Martin Luther King once delivered his famous “I have a Dream Speech”. We then went to West Potomac Park were the Thomas Jefferson Memorial stands on the south shore of the Tidal Basin. The memorial featured a nineteen foot bronze statue of Jefferson. Jefferson was the third president of the United States and he promoted democracy, freedom of religion and the separation of church and state, he help to develop our country into what it is today. We then went to the Lincoln Memorial in West Potomac Park, it has a statue of Abraham Lincoln seated on an armchair. The Lincoln Memorial also has the text of the Gettysburg Address and the text of Lincoln's Second Inaugural speech. Both were engraved on a stone tablet. The last thing we did on our trip and my favorite part was go to the National Achieves and Records building, at the building they display the original copies of the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and the Bill of Rights. The National Archives also had other valuable U.S. government records and historic maps, photographs, and manuscripts. I loved going to the National Achieve and Records building because I loved seeing the documents that helped make America.

What can I do to stop M.E.Ch.A at my college ?? A Latino-Hispanic youth group at my college, M.E.Ch.A, is on a propaganda campaign telling Asians, Blacks, and other students that ICE is a racist law enforcement group that's attacking Hispanics, now, and will go after Asians, Blacks, and other non-whites if they're not stopped. They're using scare tactics to intimidate other students to sympathize and support illegal aliens. I'm not Hispanic, but most people mistake me for being Mexican. I looked over all their broshures and propaganda material, and asked where'd you get the $$ to fund all this. Seems businesses who employ illegals in California are contributing heavily into this student hate group. Even if they're a non-profit org, aren't they liable for slander? Is there an anti-immigration group, or org, in or near Walnut, California (20 miles east of Los Angeles) who can sue these kids for slander? Why can't the USA....? Change their Constitution? OK for the obvious reason that it IS the "Constitution" but I am saying this with reference to the Xmas shooting by the man dressed in the Santa suit. Illiteracy rates are in the double digits and GDP per capita is really low. I've learned that many Americans are opposed to imperialism because its "evil" "its not right to impose our will on others" "its not right to reap benefits from war" but isn't it a greater good to make Iraq and afghanistan colonies or colony like. I don't think the world hate the U.S but only the countries that hate the U.S are the ones that have been invaded by the U.S or a poor and corrupt and use bad will against the U.S to maintain power by claiming they will oppose western dominance. If America took complete control of Iraq and enforced a constitution much like what you have and built public schools all over Iraq then at first Iraqis would and the rest of Mideast would hate the U.S but I know for sure 30+years later with the new generation or generation after America would have much better relations. If done right American dominance can be a force for great good world wide. BTW I'm African and have the perspective of a foreigner. There is nothing I would want more than American and European businesses opening up shop all over Africa but not missionaries they can stay home. That would help with your immigration problem since Africans would stay in Africa. Imperialism can be good just think about it. In my country young kids are sold for less the $50 to work instead of being sent to school and local village leaders allow this because its either customary or they profit somehow. Are kids confused when they are taught the constitution in school now days? I would think most kids would be confused. I am confused. I remember what I was taught in school, very pationately by teachers who meant every word. They told me I had certain constitiutional rights as did every other American. If these kids are still being taught what I was, there must be a lot of questions. It seems we no long regard the constitution in the same way. Do any of your kids ask about this?

How is the U.S. constitution taught to childred in this day and age? As a child and even in to highschool, I was taught the U.S. constitution. I was led to believe that the bill of rights was valid. I was told that I had certain human rights, along with every other American. I am just wondering what a classroom sounds like discussing this subject now days? Students are smart and if they are still teaching the US constitution and Bill of Rights like they used to, the kids would have A LOT of questions about some of the things we are doing in this country? In Britain kids are refused admission to certain schools on religious grounds. Does this happen in America? The best schools in Britain are exclusive religious schools and it has become a common practice for parent to pretend worship for years to get kids admitted. Furthermore kids are commonly forced to practice religion throughout their school years. I know that in US religious schools are not popular. But can admissions be rejected solely on religious grounds? Since there is a (prophetic and prudent) clause in the constitution implementing separation of state and church I'd think this is not the case. UPDATE: So from the answers it seems it is *legal* to discriminate on religious or racial grounds as long as the school does not use public funds. 1. Is such discrimination common? Seems to me it is the state that needs to swear loyalty to the british people - when our parliament shows such contempt to the people that they can renague on a manifesto promises (eu 'not the constitution' referrendum) without the slightest shame - whose benefit is this country being run for? Are kids really safer than they used to be? My dad was raised on a farm in the 1940's. There were no bicycle helmets, gates on stairs, or age appropriate toys. One time he and his brothers pounded a shot gun bullet with a hammer, which exploded, forcing the hammer up over his head and hit him in the back of the head (he did not let go). Where was his mother? Working the farm, of course. Now-a-days, kids live in padded cells, practically. Are humans being born with less constitution now? I'm wondering if the ratio of child injuries/death is really decreased with the advent of all these safety precauctions. Should we amend the constitution to require a BALANCED federal budget at all times, even in war? So the people like our Idiot King and his GOP court of village idiots cannot start a war and make our children pay for. To insure that all money spend by the government is FIRST collect through taxes, and NO borrowing is allowed. Its used to be a tenant of conservatism to have a balanced budget. There's a family fund, a dad's fund, a mom's fund, allowance funds for each child, plus savings account funds for each child set aside by Mom and Dad. Why are Schools allowed to make Unconstituional Rules? I honestly think that it is ridiculous that ppl think that the constitution doesn't apply to kids. So why can schools make rules on language, dress, and search & seizure? Why do some people say they're against Gay Marriage because they don't want their kids 'seeing it'? Last I checked Gay couples will hold hands and kiss in public whether they're married or not. Also I know this has been said before but -- I believe a church NOT receiving public funds should have the right to refuse to marry gay couples. HOWEVER, a public court shouldn't deny it. According to the constitution religion shouldn't play any part in governmental decision so if a gay couple wants to be married in City Hall there shouldn't be any debate on the subject.
Teachers, parents, students, Question about US Constitution? How is the U.S. constitution taught to childred in this day and age? As a child and even in to highschool, I was taught the U.S. constitution. I was led to believe that the bill of rights was valid. I was told that I had certain human rights, along with every other American. I am just wondering what a classroom sounds like discussing this subject now days? Students are smart and if they are still teaching the US constitution and Bill of Rights like they used to, the kids would have A LOT of questions about some of the things we are doing in this country? Are any of you teachers or students yourselves? What is being taught, do they understand it or is it being skipped over now?
If things get worse in this war and they have to bring back the draft should women be considered? I'm not sure how realistic it is for us to institute the draft but i think it's possible seeing the whole constitution has been banned by G.W. & friends. Some people say he now has 19 illegal charges against him since last Sunday because he was trying to enter the country without permission, but if that doesn't count as illegal then he has 18 illegal charges against him so far. Now were talking about the president who wanted to make drugs legal on February 22, 2008 to "stop so much murdering" you know what is the average number of deaths A DAY here in honduras? From 7 to 12. And everyday on the newspaper you see a dead person in the front page. He has also spent 2 billion lempiras (national currency) the past 2 months and hasn't said on what. We ousted him because he wanted to start something that here we call "la cuarta urna" (the fourth urn) and it is to see if people want him to be president again for another term which would be illegal because you would have to change the constitution. But since he is a liar what he was really trying to do is do a constituent that takes the government, military, congress, etc.. Out of power so if we really wanted to oust him we can't because nobody would have any power over him. He is just trying to be like Hugo Chavez. If you were a Honduran like I am, you would know why most of us want peace and democracy. There is no article in the Constitution that states that the federal government should be allowed to be involved in the education of American children. Parents, not the government or the UN, should be responsible for the education of American children. The Department of Education has a budget of $69 billion a year, which comes from taxpayers. Instead of learning about the Constitution and the Founding Fathers, children are being fed UN garbage, like "how to be better members of the global community". Question on the constitution (more clear)? Our constitution says nothing about the people paying taxes to the government. So my question is: Is it possible to live without paying taxes. (according to the constitution, it should be possible). If so, why do we still pay taxes? - (when we don't want to, because I know some people do want to) OK, so your saying a bunch of people got together (government), and decided that everyone is going to pay them taxes, and they decide how they want to spend that money? We work, we use our time, and we cant keep our money? I seriously don't see how this could be fair. I'm glad I don't have to do taxes, but doing them seems just unreasonable. Same with health care. Say, some person is drinking and having sex with everyone, and spreads disease, and uses drugs, and does dangerous things. They want to use my money to provide health care for them? If I don't take care of my car: don't give it maintenance, no oil changes, no break changes, no aliments, not car washes, and I drive like I want, and go crazy on the roads. Should the government pay to fix my car? Lets have the government pay (with our taxes) for all the car repairs also, Hmmm? The same thing with everything else. Why does the governments try to get itself involved with everything in a persons life? I believe a country ought to have government for protection. Not for dictation of their lives. Even though its not a dictatorship. I don't see how this is fair. Why can't we just pay the amount when we need to for our problem. Why does this go in with taxes? With this going on it makes me think that the group in charge of taxes could be doing even better than the time of the slaves. Think about it. We work all day, have just enough money to pay our rent, our health care, our bills, our mortgage, our food. And we pay the rest for the government taxes. this does not sound like freedom to me! They want to have a license for me to get property, they want me to get a license to get a house on my property, they want a license for me to cut down a tree on my property, they want a license for me to get married, to have kids, to do everything in this country. What happened to this country being the home of the free? We are not free to do anything without the governments permission. I'm only 16, and don't have a job yet, and thinking about this does not make me appreciate our country.
